The South Carolina Chamber Music Festival  its 7th Edition, February 25 – March 1, 2019, Black Box Theatre, Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center, Downtown Florence, Paolo André Gualdi and Brandon Goff, artistic directors

 

 

 

The Festival’s final day will bring a performance of Woman to Woman , a selection of works by women composers, performed by Eureka Duo Qiao Chen Solomon (violin) and Hyunjung Rachel Chung (piano).

Tuesday’s line-up will feature Kirstin Chavez, renowned mezzo-soprano. At 4 p.m. a Voice Master Class will be held and at 7 p.m. a Live Recording Session of a new work by FMU Professor Brandon Goff will be the highlight.

Monday’s performance is the Masterworks for violin and piano  performing Beethoven: Sonata no. 10 and Franck: Sonat.

Thursday, February 22 at 7:30pm – Where Europe meets South America, piano duo

Friday, February 23 at 7:30pm – From Bartok to Beatles, Richter Uzur Duo (guitar and cello)

FMU Music Industry Ensemble Concert

The Music Industry Ensemble is a chamber ensemble devoted to the development of individual performance and improvisation skills through the staging of music for small groups representing a variety of classic and modern jazz, pop, rock and soul styles. The M.I.E. provides a workshop in which students also learn arranging, microphone technique and scheduling, sound reinforcement and lighting design.
