The Business of Art: The Power of Words – Artist Statements and Titles

Julie Snyder Mixon will be addressing the complexities of using words to enhance the work of an artist.
 
Prior to teaching at the University, Julie taught as an Art Instructor at Lenoir Community College in Kinston, North Carolina for eight years. She received her Masters of Fine Arts in Photography from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina in December of 2004 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina in May of 2002.

She is currently an Assistant Professor of Photography at Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina.

The Business of Art: Legal Challenges for Creatives

Join the Florence Regional Arts Alliance in Spetember, as we kick off our second annual professional development series for artists.

Mr. Reynolds Williams of Willcox, Buyck & Williams, P.A. willl provide insight into current legal challenges facing the creative world.

An active local arts advocate, he worked his way through law school as a television producer and director and has continued that interest as an actor, director, and President of the Florence Little Theater, winning the Best Actor Awards in 1982 and 1985. Currently he is Chairman of the Willcox, Buyck & Williams Foundation’s Play Me, I’m Yours signature public art works.
