

Third Tuesday Adult Art Night kicks off on Tuesday, March 15th at the Wine Factory. The evening of art will be featured on Third Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00pm. Instructor for March will be Beth Maier. Individuals or couples will create an acrylic painting with all supplies provided. Participants will select from several images for the “Uncorked” theme in March. Registration fee is $25/person. Basic Oil Painting Classes Series II will continue to develop topics introduced in series one: Color mixing, values, brush strokes, steps to create a painting. New participants are welcome. Participants will be encouraged to complete a “painterly” still life, using a flat brush. The classes will run for 3 Wednesdays beginning March 9th from 10:00am -12:00 noon. Supplies are included in the $36 total fee. Registration is required. The Cheraw Arts Commission presents A Conversation with the Delany Sisters
The Cheraw Arts Commission presents A Conversation with the Delany Sisters on Saturday, February 27 at the Theatre on the Green in Cheraw. This excerpt is adapted from Emily Mann’s play: Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years.
The setting is the home of sisters Sadie and Bessie Delany. Sadie is 103 years old, and Bessie is 101. The sisters are preparing a meal in remembrance of their father’s birthday and have a story to tell that is based on their lives. Bessie and Sadie reflect on their real life experiences as they examine issues of gender, race and age.
Director is Corlis Hayes, Ph.D., Arts and Communication Faculty member of Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC. Charlotte actor Lillie Ann Oden plays the role of Bessie Delany and Corlis Hayes portrays Sadie Delany.

The Cheraw Arts Commission presents George Washington Carver and Friends by Bright Star Touring Theatre group in February. The performance is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24 at the Theatre on the Green – 9:00am.

The lives and accomplishments of Booker T. Washington, Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, Madame C.J. Walker, and other famous leaders are brought to life in this empowering production.
Bright Star Touring Theatre, a national professional touring theatre company, is based in Asheville, NC. The touring group serves nearly 1,000 audiences annually with a variety of programs.
Admission is $6.00/student and adults accompanying students are admitted at no charge.
