Stockton was first hired to tour the world by his musical hero Maynard Ferguson. During that nearly four year time period Stockton was a featured soloist, the youngest person to ever be Maynard’s music director, the only drummer to ever be Maynard’s music director, and producer of Maynard’s last studio recording, The One and Only Maynard Ferguson (2007).

Stockton has also performed and recorded with a wide range of artists including Arturo Sandoval, the Maniacal 4, Erika Badu, David Braid, Steve Wiest, Jennifer Holiday, The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Denis DiBlasio, The Cincinnati Pops, Chip McNeill, Darden Purcell, Clay Jenkins, Phil Woods, Wayne Bergeron, Randy Brecker, The Imperial Brass, Mary Wilson, Paul Tynan, Ernie Watts and many more.

Before Stockton toured the world, Stockton began his musical career in Florence. Stockton was part of Florence School District One Fine Arts “DOME” program and a 1998 graduate of West Florence High School.  Stockton played percussion with the Florence Symphony Orchestra, prior to the creation of Florence Symphony Youth Orchestra. Stockton performed as the original drummer with the Florence Area Big Band’s founding musicians, Allen Brown, Randy Shell, and Julian Graham.

Stockton will perform with the Florence Area Big Band favorites from the libraries of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich along with many popular standards.

The Florence Regional Arts Alliance is celebrating 35 years of helping the Arts in Florence County.  Since 1983, the FRAA has been committed to preserving, supporting, and promoting a vibrant arts community for Florence County.  The funds raised from this concert will go towards operating expenses allowing the Florence Regional Arts Alliance to provide arts grant support, scholarships, arts marketing and arts programming to Florence County.
