The Central United Methodist Church’s LIVE@CENTRAL! will continue its exciting 13th season on Wednesday, March 7, at 6:30 pm with retired Francis Marion University Professor of Music, Dr. Benjamin Woods. For this special concert, Dr. Woods will be playing a selection of old favorites on the acclaimed Schimmel piano.

 

The free public program will be held in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church on the corner of Cheves and Irby streets in downtown Florence. Dinner (optional) will be served at 5:15 pm.

Featured musicians will be Amy Blackwood on the acclaimed Schimmel grand Piano, violinist Catherine Culp Hazan, and cellist Dr. Richard Thomas. The program presented will be piano trios by Joseph Haydn, Frank Bridge, and Johannes Brahms.

Join Central United Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 1, for a duet performance by Cameron Nettles on the acclaimed Schimmel piano and vocalist Rachel Warr. They will present a program of popular music, movie themes, and Broadway show tunes that is sure to please.

Live@Central – Steven Jeffcoat, Director of the South Carolina Military Museum

Join Central United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 25, for a special program on the military heroes of South Carolina from the Indian wars to the current conflicts presented by Steven Jeffcoat, Director of the South Carolina Military Museum. He will also examine the origin of the South Carolina state flag. There will be a question and answer opportunity.
