LIVE@CENTRAL!:

The Central United Methodist Church’s LIVE@CENTRAL! will continue its exciting 13th season on Wednesday, March 7, at 6:30 pm with retired Francis Marion University Professor of Music, Dr. Benjamin Woods. For this special concert, Dr. Woods will be playing a selection of old favorites on the acclaimed Schimmel piano.

 

The free public program will be held in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church on the corner of Cheves and Irby streets in downtown Florence. Dinner (optional) will be served at 5:15 pm.

LIVE@CENTRAL!:

The Central United Methodist Church’s LIVE@CENTRAL! will continue its exciting 13th season on Wednesday, February 28, at 6:30 pm with the Piedmont Chamber Players. Featured musicians will be Amy Blackwood on the acclaimed Schimmel grand Piano, violinist Catherine Culp Hazan, and cellist Dr. Richard Thomas. The program presented will be piano trios by Joseph Haydn, Frank Bridge, and Johannes Brahms.

 

The free public program will be held in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church on the corner of Cheves and Irby streets in downtown Florence. Dinner (optional) will be served at 5:15 pm.

LIVE@CENTRAL! Duet Performance Cameron Nettles and Rachel Warr

Join Central United Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 1, for a duet performance by Cameron Nettles on the acclaimed Schimmel piano and vocalist Rachel Warr. They will present a program of popular music, movie themes, and Broadway show tunes that is sure to please.

The free public program will be held in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church on the corner of West Cheves and South Irby streets in downtown Florence beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner (optional) will be served at 5:15 p.m.

Live@Central – Steven Jeffcoat, Director of the South Carolina Military Museum

Join Central United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 25, for a special program on the military heroes of South Carolina from the Indian wars to the current conflicts presented by Steven Jeffcoat, Director of the South Carolina Military Museum. He will also examine the origin of the South Carolina state flag. There will be a question and answer opportunity.

The free public program will be held in Spears Fellowship Hall of Central United Methodist Church on the corner of West Cheves and South Irby streets in downtown Florence beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner (optional) will be served at 5:15 p.m.

Join Central United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 6, as it opens its 13th season with excerpts of the wildly popular Broadway musical, “Beauty and the Beast,” presented by The Florence Little Theatre. As an additional treat, we will hear a short history of the 94 years of The Florence Little Theatre. After you hear Dr. Shaun, films will take on a new meaning. The program will include short clips of films and how to unravel the story within. Thomas is a Julliard graduate and has been thrilling audiences all over the United States as well as Europe, China and Canada.
