Bird Watching Program

March 15, 2016 @ 6:30 pm

Just in time for the spring migration of birds, The Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library will host a bird-watching workshop on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. Husband and wife birding experts Dr. Julia Krebs and Roger Hux will introduce attendees to the basics of backyard bird watching. They will share tips on what tools to use to start identifying the birds that regularly visit feeders, birdbaths, and birdhouses in our region.

Dr. Krebs is a professor in the Biology Department at Francis Marion University with a specialization in ornithology. Hux is a former librarian at Francis Marion University. They share an interest in birding and a long-time commitment to local conservation efforts. The couple have been on bird trips to several places in the US and also to England, northern Manitoba, Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Antarctica, South Africa, Tanzania, Borneo, and Madagascar.
