From New York City, the ensemble features the best and brightest of classical music’s rising stars drawn from many of the nation’s major music schools including Juilliard, Curtis, and Yale. Frisson showcases a myriad of rarely-performed masterworks. Listen and enjoy as Frisson expands and contracts into a variety of ensembles, including quintets, sextets, nonets, and a small chamber orchestra. The ensemble made its debut in major cities across the United States during the 2017-18 season. They are rapidly becoming one of the busiest classical music ensembles with dozens of performances annually. Six of the artists will be performing in Lake City.

Recently acclaimed a “world renown organist” and “YouTube organ influencer,” Mark Husey gained global notoriety through amassing over 5 million views of over 800 videos on his two YouTube channels.

Following his ten years of service at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Columbia, he is currently Parish Organist at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro California and visiting organist at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angeles in Los Angeles.
In addition to Mr. Husey’s performance of organ works of J. S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, and Paul Hindemith, this concert features Mary Alice Thomy Bogue, Katie Gatch, and Mac McDougal performing vocal duets and quartets.

Lake City Concert Series – Bay Street Brasswork

As part of its 2017 – 2018 Concert Series, the Lake City Concert Series welcomes Bay Street Brassworks to the Pee Dee Region.

Founded in 1995, Bay Street Brassworks, are raising the bar to a superior level by performing brass quintet music ranging from “Bach to Rock” with the addition of non-traditional brass quintet instruments.  Bay Street Brassworks’ ambition is to change “sound” through instrumentation so the audience will have a unique and different experience, while preserving the quality, complexity and excitement of all music.  During the concert, Bay Street Brassworks will perform music ranging from Classical to Jazz and Funk to Rock.

Lake City Concert Series invites you to “Love the Arts” an educations fundraiser is co-sponsored by the Inn at the Crossroads.  Bring some you love to this additional fundraiser for only $25 per person.  This special event will feature entertainment by talented local musicians in a romantic setting with champagne and dessert.  This will be an evening to enjoy wonderful love songs while satisfying your sweet tooth.  Tickets may be purchased when you buy your season tickets or at the door.

Lake City Concert Series – Colla Voce, Directed by Dr. Larry Wyatt

Lake City Concert Series celebrates the beginning of the Christmas season with Colla Voce.  A Columbia based chamber ensemble of professional musicians founded by Dr. Larry Wyatt in the spring of 2001.  Colla Voce has become known for the virtuosity of its singers and the sophistication of its repertoire.  Join the Lake City Concert Series as Colla Voce performs seasonal works for Christmas.

Colla Voce is directed by Dr. Larry Wyatt, director of Choral Studies at the University of South Carolina.  In addition to directing the concert choir, he supervises the masters and doctoral programs in choral conducting and the Graduate Vocal Ensemble.

Lake City Concert Series – The Lomazov/Rackers Piano Duo

Lake City Concert Series opens its 2017-2018 Concert Series with the Lomazov/Rackers Piano Duo.  The Lomazov/Rackers Piano Duo have performed as recitalists and in concert with orchestras throughout the United States and Europe.  The duo has premiered numerous works which have been written specifically for them.  Their broad repertoire ranges from important words by Back, Brahms, Mozart and Schubert to wide-ranging performances of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring and Petrushka.  Ms. Lomazov and Mr. Rackers each hold the Doctor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music and both serve on the piano faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Music where they co-direct the Southeastern Piano Festival.

Lake City Concert Series: “Celebrate With Friends” Fundraising Gala

In the beautiful setting of the Moore Farms Botanical Gardens, this year’s fundraising gala features the very talented “Angel Yock and Friends”. Angel Yock is the Director of Music at Lake City High School. She is an accomplished pianist and soloist who has performed live across the southeast. Angel will be joined by many of her talented friends to bring us an evening filled with music.

The evening will begin with a reception and silent auction of art created by local students and professional artists, as we raise funds for Arts Education in our community. Complementing the beauty of the gardens and the art will be an array of tasty local foods accompanied by beer and wine to make for a memorable occasion. Bring a friend and don’t miss this spectacular conclusion to our season.
